Paul Mossman Pottery creates craft pottery from the pottery premises in Ridgeway Craft Centre,Ridgeway, Sheffield
You will find unique handmade dinner services and kitchenware hand thrown in the traditional pottery craft.
Creating frost proof giant urns for garden designers, alongside stoneware oven ,microwave and dishwasher proof pottery.
In between can be found enormous hand made dragons,gardening ,sitting reading the paper or simply smoking.
The Paul Mossman Pottery for hand thrown stoneware pottery was established in Sheffield in 1994,since then he has supplied The Greenman Gallery in Pickering ,Westmoorland Foods at Tebay and Rheged ,the RHS at Harlow Carr and supplied Chatsworth Farm Shop and Garden shop and exhibited at RHS Tatton Show and Hampton Court.
The giant pots are all guaranteed frost proof making them ideal for serious year round gardening.
The craft pottery body is fired to stoneware temperature 1260 C, making it totally non porous.The glazes I use for the handmade, frost proof giant pots are for aesthetic purposes only.
All the craft potteryIS DESIGNED BY MYSELF At Paul Mossman Pottery Ridgeway, I use an old Victorian wheel used for throwing pottery in Chesterfield, home to myself and the famous Brampton Potteries, but I now fire in electric kilns for the convenience of family life. The old bottle kilns of yesteryear have long gone but the skills of the potter are very much alive and kicking.
Come and watch Paul in his workshop in Ridgeway, Sheffield, enjoy the spectacle of a blob of clay become giant frost proof garden pots, or see kitchenware hand thrown; Take the pots home and eat, drink and be merry with hand thrown kitchenware. Then come again and again to Sheffield to repeat the wondrous hand thrown experience.
